About
Engineering practical systems for real businesses.
Progressive OS is an independent technology engineering company focused on infrastructure, business systems, collaboration and applied AI.
Our work sits between traditional infrastructure engineering and modern software development. That matters because the most useful business systems rarely exist in isolation: applications depend on identity, data, networks, integrations, security and operational processes.
We combine those layers into systems that can be understood, operated and improved over time.
The company deliberately stays small in structure and broad in competence. What we take on, we take end to end: from the first conversation about a business problem to the runbook that documents the finished system.
What we are not
Not a Nextcloud company, not an AI chatbot company, not a Linux administration shop, not an open-source consultancy and not a web development agency. Each of those is a capability inside a larger engineering practice whose product is working systems.
Experience
Built from production experience
Our engineering approach comes from more than a decade of hands-on work with Linux, production infrastructure, virtualization, web platforms, databases, networking and business-critical systems.
The same years shaped our opinions about what fails in practice: undocumented configurations, untested backups, integrations without ownership, automation without observability. Everything we design is a reaction to those failures.

Technology philosophy
Independent by design
We are not tied to a single cloud, vendor or software ecosystem. Technology choices should follow the workload, operational model and business constraints.
We favour open standards and open-source technologies when they improve control, interoperability and economics — but architecture always comes first.
Transparent by default
Systems we build are documented and explainable — no black boxes the business is forced to trust.
No lock-in as a strategy
Where open formats and standard APIs work, we use them — so switching remains possible.
Pragmatism over ideology
The simplest architecture that reliably solves the problem is the one we recommend.
